rollercoaster

Hey hey :) Now I'm reading City of Ashes, and I've only a little of the pages :(
I don't think I'm going to be able to read that much this week, cause I'll be gone with my choir mates at school for the training center. Until Saturday.
I'm really excited for it yet I'll be missing Clary and the gang, teehee.

School was great today, although it was only half-day. I thought I would be cranky since it's the first day of school since the holidays, but I wasn't. I was actually having a good time today :D
And! We're off to a new topic in English class, mythology. :D whoot! This is gonna be a great unit and I'm excited for the things we're gonna do and even the challenges that are going to come. Well, I say Bring It On! Haha :P

Anyhoo, I'm going to finish my English homework and then take a shower, eat and pack for tomorrow. And hopefully I'll still have time to read City of Ashes. *fingers crossed*

Toodleoos!

Maya.

I LOVED IT!

Whoop! I actually finished the last half of City of Bones yesterday and today school starts! :D

I enjoyed this thrill-ride of a book, the plot was super awesome. During the twists and turns of the story, I felt the rush in my heart as I read. During the first parts of the book I was kinda confused because I couldn't understand some of the places in the story. But as I read on I understood more and it didn't become such a big confusion for me anymore. Personally I've always been into science fiction and fantasy books, I like to escape into a different world from mine, and I do that even when things get hard :).

But I was put off my some stuff, like one bit with the point of view, it changes quite a bit in parts of the book.

Overall I really like the story and also the characters, especially one of them, Jace. He reminds me of some boys in my life, they can be really arrogant and infuriating but they have that sensitive side in them. The book also have some funny elements which I laughed out loud to, and my mom looked at me like I was crazy, haha.

Anyways, I highly recommend this book, I'm gonna start the next book, City of Ashes. I'm super excited to see what's gonna happen next. :)

...and I need, to get City of Glass :)

Fun Questions For A Reader :D

Well i found some questions which are really fun to answer :D especially for readers.
here they are! And I'm not sleepy yet and can't be bothered to get into bed, so answering these questions were fun :P

Do you snack while you read? If so, favourite reading snack?

You bet I do :) Well it's somewhere between chips, cookies and chocolate. But my fave would have to be of course, CHOCOLATE :D

Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?

Used to :)

How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Leaving the book flat open?

Sometimes I memorize the page number (I usually forget) so now I use bookmarks :P hehe.

Fiction, non-fiction, or both?

Honestly, fiction. :)

Hard copy or audiobooks?

Hardcopy. Audiobooks...depends on how the people speak. They tend to make me sleepy somehow. haha.

Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?

Well I like to read til the end of chapters, sometimes I get distracted then I put the book down.

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?

Nah, sometimes. And at times, it could have a different meaning in the book.

What are you currently reading?

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.

What is the last book you bought?

The King's Last Song by Geoff Ryman.

Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time?

Mm, I can read more than one at a time, I tend to juggle some books :P

Do you have a favourite time of day and/or place to read?

I read whenever I can, especially when school is making me so busy. But I'd like to read in the evening, sitting comfortably in the couch. Or in bed before I go to sleep. OH! Also at a cafe, near the swimming pool and...THE BEACH :D

Do you prefer series books or stand alone books?

Haha mm, that's hard. Stand alone, but I don't mind series, don't mind them at all :)

Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

How do you organise your books? (By genre/title/author's last name, etc.?)

Hehehe not really :P Maybe I shall do that... haha.

currently...

What I’m Reading:

City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare

i just love a some fantasy fiction and this one has urban twists. this is set in New York :) i love to bury myself in this book to just go into a different world as an escape from mine.

it’s full of mythical creatures, demons and faeries, and awesome, thrilling demon-hunters known as Shadowhunters. and fifteen year old Clary could see these supernatural beings and she had her first encounter with a Shadowhunter, the handsome, mysterious and a tad egoistic Jace. she gets drawn into the world of the Shadowhunters and things get better from there. :)

What I’m Reading Next:

Of course the sequel to this book, City Of Ashes

so excited to see what’s gonna happen next :)

What I Want To Read:

Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.

Review by www.amazon.com

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.

With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.”

okay, how can i not want to read it? :)

The Last Song- Nicholas Sparks

Sparks is known for his great stories such as “A Walk To Remember” and “The Notebook” it’s a lovable, and heart-tugging book. good for your summer reading :)   i certainly ADORED this book, a great story about love. i greatly recommend this one.

it’s about a 17 year old girl leaving new york to spend her summer with her estranged father in a beach town in North Carolina. it’s full of romance, the sandy beach, heartache, and discovering yourself. enjoy every word of this book until the end.
